G418 Sulfate Powder-5g

Crystalline white powder, M.W 692.7 ultra pure grade, activity 450µg/mg. An aminoglycoside related to gentamicin. Used as a selective in molecular genetics in deference to ampicillin and tetracycline since it is toxic to bacteria, yeast, higher plant and mammalian cells as well as protozoa. Resistance is conferred by one of two dominant genes of bacterial origin which can be expressed in eukaryotic cells.
