-IPTG, Dioxane Free, Ultra Pure Grade
-Isopropyl-β-D-thiogalactopyanside (IPTG) is a commonly used inducer for β-galactosidase activity in many bacterial gene sequence contolled by the lac operator. IPTG enhances β-galactosidase activity by binding and inhibiting the lac repressor. IPTG and a chromogenic substrate (X-Gal) are often used to identify bacterial colonies containing recombinant plasmid DNA for vectors containing the lacZ gene.
